JOHN MUIR MEDICAL CENTER-WALNUT CREEK
John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek, is one of the few Bay Area hospitals with a heliport. This allows patients to be taken to the trauma center by helicopter from anywhere in the Bay Area in just minutes.
The center has served as Contra Costa County’s only trauma center since 1986. County guidelines dictate which patients are taken to the center, which has been verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as a Level II Trauma Center.
